California here we come! {Connecticut & Antelope Valley, California Family Photographer}

We're down to just a couple weeks left of this wonderful year here in Connecticut. There's so much we'll miss. As always, it's the people we've come to love we'll miss most.

Thrilling, of course, is moving back west to California.  We're looking at Acton, Tehachapi and the Lancaster/Palmdale areas. If you have any advice, please email me! :)

I'm going to post a couple I got at the Memorial Day Parade in our little village here in Connecticut. It was so cool.

The Fife and Drum, present at all parades, one reason these parades are so cool.

I love the local celebrity saluting.

Down by the shore, a sweet girl Smiles

We ran down-town for a quick shoot yesterday evening.  Sweet and cooperative, while the other kids spoke to everyone passing by.  My 5 year old invited most everyone to our house (for sure those with dogs;) and asked one couple if she could be their Grand-daughter.

PS! Those of you from Connecticut: we move to Southern California the end of this month. I have just a couple appointments available. We will miss this wonderful state and all those who live in it.

Just an average day, lovin' life with my peeps.

My Girls created this tepee one day after school. I saw it once it was finished and thought it was brilliant.

Yep, I'll come and show 'em what I've got.

You can always run Home

This Family: Pleasant, Loving, Fun, Beautiful, Smart, could all stay still and look at the camera all at the same time - I'm am sooo years away from that! :) - Obviously the parents have fostered happiness in their children.

And She Wants to be an Artist.

Okay, I love this pose below. The adorable boy said, "How about we do this?" I said, "Perfect."

Then Dad showed-up, in his leathers, and was so proud of his son who learned to ride a bike that very day.

Of course, Dad's bike is the ulitmate of all bikes...

More of the Brothers

The rest from the shoot with those gorgeous boys. I LOVE these faces. I could post and post and post the images of their faces. I'll just pick a few.

Later that night, our "It Feels Like Summer" Softball game. I love this one below, of the girls in the dug-out. There is something about that fence that makes them feel that they are in their own world.  There is also something about that fence that allows the parents to listen in on delightful 8 year old conversations.

And, an up-date on The Haircut. :)

And finally (from my now 3rd post from tonight!) a photo I find hilarious. What a delightful ham!

NYC- I love you.

I took my two oldest to NYC with my parents this past weekend. There is just something about that place! After the exciting train ride, my mom and I went to Wicked. Loved it.  My dad took the girls to the M&M mega-store, the Toys R Us extravaganza, had caricature drawn of them... they'll never forget it.  Here are just a few from our special weekend.

The girls bought turtles on Canal Street and showed them to the Statue of Liberty.

Always learning, always loving it.

Last week I had the great opportunity to mentor with two top photographers (Shannon Sewell from Portland & Fred Egan from Houston) in Philadelphia.  What a privilege to learn from such talented artists.  I met some other fantastic and very talented up and coming photographers, watch for future links to their stuff!  Here are a few from the shoots.

Since there were five of use shooting at the same time, I decided to take a different perspective on the couple. The gal was delightful and sweet.  The gal is usually the focal point, so I wanted to capture the coolness of the guy.  And he was cool.

Like a teasing Brother, just four for now.

This shoot was so great... I mean LOOK at these boys! Just fou for now. Lots more to come!

What a Surprise!

After school yesterday, the kids and I stayed to play at the playground as we do on all possible days.  About 20 minutes into playing, a truck and trailer pulled-up and out trotted... a Petting Zoo!!

Luckily I had my camera in the car and snapped a few.

That goat is FOUR Days Old!!

I think I was a farm animal photographer in another life, or at least a cowgirl.

My oldest daughter once said to me, "Mom, when I grow-up I'm going to marry a cowboy and he's NOT going to be allergic to cats!"

Earlier in the day, checking-out the location of our Monday shoot (and gathering eggs.)

This is for Real--for REAL!

Above, he's picking the best flower to throw to the dog swimming by in the pond!

Then we went down-town

And earlier in the day, playing in the dirt. Digging in the dirt, just to dig in the dirt is a new one in our family. I love it.

Some of Our Favorite People

These are the best, kindest, most enjoyable kids you could ever meet.  I Adore their mother and love to hear them all talk about their wonderful father.  My kids LOVE this family and we will all miss them terribly when we move across the country this summer.

The Haircut

One of my BFF's came out to visit a couple weeks ago.  Joe called as I sadly drove home from dropping Andi off at the airport.

"You're not going to be very happy," Joe said. "I cut the baby's hair.  It looks really bad," he continued.

Well, it was bad, but he's still cute. I just figure the poor kid only has another 20 years or so with a full head of hair and I'd like him to enjoy it while he has it. :) ha.  Anyway, here are the promised shots of the cut.

First shoot of Spring!....... Spring?

Gorgeous, sweet, kids. The chemistry and good nature of these sibs made for a slick shoot in an artsy New England town.  This is one thing I will miss when we move to California in July. (more on that news later!)

I thought this posing below was hilarious. I just suggested that they strike a pose and this is what they did.
